Clear the way
in a sacred manner
I come
the earth

hence
in a sacred manner
I come
clear the way
in a sacred manner
I come.

How we can Help
"Listen. Listen more carefully to what is around you right now." -- Hafiz

The practitioners associated with The Shaman Alliance are initiated shamans, healers who have more than 25 years of collective experience in alternative healing and training modalities for both animals and people.

The shamans of The Shaman Alliance have been initiated into the Andean tradition as taught by Marti Spiegelman through the shamans of the Cusco region of Peru. We also have training in the traditions of the Himalayan shamans in Nepal and the Dagara shamans of western Africa, and can see the common wisdom that all these cultures share. We apply these indigenous techniques and original teachings to solve modern world problems.

See the "Who We Are" link for more details and our biosketches.

Shamans work with the energies that form us, our animals and the natural world around us, to see where those energies are less than ideal and to give you the tools to realign these energies into their natural rhythms. The work is powerfully beneficial for both humans and animals.

Shamanic Healing

Since shamans use energy work, there are a variety of tools we can access to help you, and some things YOU can do to help yourself and your animals ...

  • Visioning: A good place to start, to get an “energetic road map” of a particular situation, to asses questions or challenges, and to offer clear, precise solutions.
  • Mesa reading: shamans take a deeper look at an issue by consulting their medicine bundles to gain insight and determine the best course of action for the client.
  • Despacho: a despacho is a form of prayer where the shaman prepares a beautiful gift, an offering of flowers and herbs to be given to the spirits in nature, as a direct request for a specific purpose (i.e., for your physical health, or the health of an animal). The despacho ingredients, the prayers the shamans offer in constructing the offering, and the ritual of the offering itself are all very specific for you—these are done regularly, but are very powerful and focused on individual (including animal) inquiries for change.
  • Tobacco trap: a ritual that releases past associations, relationships, or triggers that cause present-day anxieties; we can hold onto these associations even when they are no longer needed, and they cause us problems. This ritual frees us from those past ties. This ritual is a process completed by the client with advice from the shaman.
  • Tools. Sometimes, a specific tool is required to help the healing process. In those cases, a shaman will construct a tool specifically for you and your growth: this may take the form of a “focusing tool” which assists in being awake and aware and attentive to an activity that needs to be accomplished, a prayer rattle, or other tools which will help in your healing work.
